MikroTik network monitoring for ISPs: towers, access points and customer radios

Last updated: 19 October 2026

Your customers call before you know a tower is down. RadiusNest watches every device on your network - backhaul links, sector access points, switches and the radios on customers' roofs - through the MikroTik router that can reach it, tells you on Telegram and by email when one goes down, and opens any of them in one click.

How it works

  1. Add your devices - or let RadiusNest find them. Press Discover on a router: it lists the devices that router can see, each with an Add button. Or add a name and an IP address yourself.
  2. The router does the checking. RadiusNest puts a check on that MikroTik (its own Netwatch tool) that pings the device every 30 seconds. Nothing to install, no extra server on your network, and the device does not need a public IP.
  3. RadiusNest reads the results every minute and shows every device as Up or Down, grouped by router, with the time it last changed.

Discover: find every device around a router

Discover reads the router and lists what is around it: MikroTik devices and other gear that announce themselves (MikroTik neighbor discovery, CDP and LLDP) with their name, model and version, then every address the router has talked to on its own networks, with the names they gave by DHCP. Hotspot and PPPoE customers and the router's own addresses are left out, and devices you already watch are marked. Pick what each one is, then press Add on one, or tick several and add them at once. Discovering changes nothing on the router.

Alerts that do not flood your phone

  • A device that stays down for 2 minutes sends one alert - a short blip does not.
  • When it comes back you get one more message, with how long it was down.
  • When a whole tower goes down, all its devices come in one message, not forty.
  • Alerts go to your own Telegram chat and to the owners' email. Each device can have alerts switched off.
  • Every up and down is kept, so you can see which link drops every evening.

Open any device in one click

Every device has an Open button. RadiusNest opens its web page in a new tab, or gives you a Winbox address for a MikroTik device - through the router it sits behind, from wherever you are. You log in with the device's own user and password; RadiusNest never sees or keeps them. Ubiquiti and other radios with HTTPS-only pages work too.

RadiusNest adds the forwarding on the router itself, and only the RadiusNest server can use it. For a router whose login can only read, you get the lines to paste once instead.

Tell the customers who are affected

When a device is down, Tell customers sends a message through your Telegram bot to the customers who use that router - "We know, we are fixing it" - so the phone stops ringing.

What it costs

Included with every RadiusNest account, the free trial too. No extra software, no monitoring server, no per-device fee.

Questions

Do I need a monitoring server on my network?

No. The MikroTik router that can reach each device pings it with its own Netwatch tool, and RadiusNest reads the results. Nothing else runs on your network.

Can RadiusNest find my devices by itself?

Yes. Press Discover on a router: it lists the devices that router can see - MikroTik neighbours, CDP and LLDP gear and every address it has talked to - without your customers, each with an Add button.

Which devices can I watch?

Anything with an IP address that answers ping from the router: backhaul links, sector access points, switches, customer radios and CPEs, servers. Any brand.

How fast do I hear about an outage?

A device that stays down for 2 minutes sends one alert on Telegram and by email. When it comes back you get one more. Several devices on the same router come in one message.

How do I open a device's web page or Winbox from outside?

Press Open next to the device. RadiusNest opens its web page in a new tab, or gives a Winbox address for a MikroTik, through the router it sits behind. You log in with the device's own password.

Does it work on RouterOS 6 and 7?

Yes. The checks and the forwarding work on RouterOS 6 and 7. If the router's login can only read, RadiusNest gives you the lines to paste instead of adding them itself.

What does it cost?
