MikroTik ISP billing software: what to look for

Last updated: 2 October 2026

Billing software for a MikroTik ISP does two jobs at once: it controls who is online and at what speed, and it records who paid for what. This checklist helps you compare options before you commit your customer list to one.

What it must do

  • Authenticate hotspot and PPPoE users through RADIUS, on RouterOS v6 and v7.
  • Enforce packages by itself: speed, data, time and end date, with automatic disconnection.
  • Renew in one step, adding time after the current end date.
  • Vouchers in batches, printable.
  • Several routers under one account.
  • Reports: sales per month, per package and per seller.
  • Backups you do not have to remember.

What saves you time

  • Customer self-service: a page or bot where customers see their balance and change their password.
  • Staff and reseller logins with limited rights, so nobody needs the router password.
  • Easy router connection that works without a public IP address.
  • Your currency on prices, cards and reports.
  • Who is online, live, with the option to disconnect.

Questions to ask any provider

  1. What happens to my customers if my subscription lapses for a few days?
  2. Can I export my data and have it deleted when I leave?
  3. Who can see my customers' information?
  4. Is there a contract or an automatic renewal?
  5. Can I try it on my own router before paying?
  6. How is the price calculated as I grow?

How RadiusNest answers these

  • Hotspot and PPPoE on RouterOS v6 and v7, several routers, connected with one pasted command and no public IP.
  • Packages enforced automatically; vouchers; staff and reseller logins; customer page and Telegram bot; takings in your currency.
  • Your users keep working for a few grace days if your plan lapses.
  • No contract and no automatic renewal; you pay in advance for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.
  • A free trial on your own router, and a 14-day refund on any payment.
  • You can ask for an export of your data and for its deletion.

Questions and answers

How much does MikroTik billing software cost?

Free tools cost your time and hosting. Hosted services usually charge monthly by number of users or routers. RadiusNest's current prices are on its pricing page.

Do I need a server for billing software?

For self-hosted software, yes. A hosted service runs it for you; the router only needs internet.

Can billing software work with my existing MikroTik setup?

If it uses RADIUS, yes: the hotspot or PPPoE server stays as it is and is pointed at the RADIUS service.
